Skin needling

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy

Skin needling, also known as microneedling or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface. The purpose of skin needling is to stimulate the body's natural wound healing processes, leading to increased collagen and elastin production. These proteins are crucial for maintaining the skin's structure, elasticity, and overall health.

Here's how the skin needling process typically works:

1.  Device Used: A microneedling device, which can be a dermaroller or an electronic pen-like device, is equipped with tiny needles.

2.  Preparation: Before the procedure, a numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort. The skin is cleansed and prepared for the treatment.

3.  Microneedling: The device is gently rolled or pressed onto the skin, creating microscopic punctures. These tiny injuries trigger the skin's natural healing response.

4.  Collagen Production: As the skin heals, it produces new collagen and elastin, leading to improved skin texture, firmness, and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Skin needling is commonly used to address various skin concerns, including:

·  Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Microneedling can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly those caused by aging and sun damage.

·  Scarring: It may be used to improve the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, or other types of scars by promoting collagen remodeling.

·  Uneven Skin Texture: Skin needling can enhance overall skin texture, making it smoother and more even.

·  Pigmentation Issues: It may help reduce the appearance of certain pigmentation issues, such as age spots or hyperpigmentation.

·  Enlarged Pores: Microneedling can contribute to a reduction in the size of enlarged pores.

·  Stretch Marks: It may be used to improve the appearance of stretch marks by promoting collagen synthesis.

Skin Needling Courses

How many will I need?

A course of 3-6 skin needling sessions are recommended 4 weeks apart for best results

Why not add LED light therapy

Add on LED light therapy when booking your skin needling.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) light therapy is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to target various skin concerns and promote skin rejuvenation. Different colors of LED light penetrate the skin at varying depths and have different effects on the skin cells.
